Anthony Schwab has one thing in common with his coworkers at Tech Guru – an inescapable love of technology. What became a hobby for him in high school and college began as an interest in middle school – Anthony was always taking computers apart and fiddling around with the parts. After studying math at the University of Minnesota, Anthony realized his real passion was in computers, and he returned to the motherboard.
After passing each stage in the selective hiring process, Anthony joined the team of happy employees in February 2014. Anthony had been in IT most recently at a Minneapolis law firm, and was drawn to the difference in company culture and environment at Tech Guru. “There’s a different idea about what is important for your company to succeed,” says Anthony, who was inspired to hear CEO Dan Moshe emphasize the company’s philosophy: caring is important.
In with a Fun Crowd
It comes as no surprise that Anthony had an easy time mixing in with the team. “There’s not a lot of privacy,” admits Anthony of the open floorplan at Tech Guru, a big change from the private offices at his former law firm, “but I enjoy the fact that we can turn to one another and bounce ideas around.” In getting to know his co-workers, Anthony may win some favor by treating them to some of his home-brewed craft beer. Though modestly downplaying his beer-brewing skills, Anthony sounds like a fine candidate for a future Chief Fun Officer.
